Sharon’s path as a pianist and composer has always been intertwined with her life’s work as a psychologist and healer. “Angel Gratitude: A Musical Journey Home” is her debut CD, and has been in the making for 16 years.

Sharon’s piano compositions began when she was interning at the VA in Honolulu, Hawaii, working with traumatized veterans and survivors of Hurricane Iniki. In this sacred and beautiful setting, musical notes and rhythmic patterns began to come to her as though gifts from the cosmos. The process of interacting with this music awakened her soul to what she has come to know as “Joyous Presence.” Whatever the issues and feelings of the day, through the music she was able to open up to that place where emotions, nature, and the spirit world dance together. The thirteen pieces on this CD represent her journeys, individually and as a whole, to this place of presence.

It has always been Sharon’s dream to combine her two loves—being a therapist/healer, and creating music that will impact people in positive ways. How to accomplish this eluded her until she began to create this CD, and she realized that the “Joyous Presence” she had accessed in creating and playing her pieces is availabe to the listener as well. Thus, it is her hope that this music will help the listener touch this place of presence within, and ultimately accelerate his or her own healing and evolution.

In completing her CD, Sharon felt a strong inclination to pass it on, in hope of assisting other women face the unique challenges of their journeys. For this reason, she is donating all the proceeds from the sale of this CD to Women for Women International, an organization whose mission is to "provide women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts with the tools and resources to move from crisis to stability and self-sufficiency, thereby promoting viable civil societies."
