Album Notes

Enjoy this newly remastered ONE LIGHT ONE LOVE CD. The original was created, recorded and mastered in 1993 thanks to the acoustic guitar genius of Michael McCabe of Vancouver, WA the lilting vocals of poet and lyricist, Sharon Kay and the beautiful folks at SOUNDTRACKS recording studio in Battleground, WA. Thanks Burke and Ronn. It was a wonderful experience.
It all started when Michael suggested at an event in Oregan where Michael was selling his CDs and I was selling my book, ONE LIGHT ONE LOVE. Michael smiled and asked, "do you want to do a meditation album together?" How could anyone resist Michael, a very tall and handsome man with a twinkle in his eye. We made arrangements to meet at his home which was filled with exotic birds. 
Michael's quiet basement studio became a magical place where Michael created melodies, one after another.  Michael had my poetry book, but had never read it. So I opened it that first morning and read a poem at random. As I was reading Michael created the most incredibly beautiful melody. I just listened with joy as the arrangement was completed. Intuitively, I read the poem in sync to the arrangement he had created, amazed at the synergy of what we had created together. It was like "MAGIC".
When Michael and I finished the first song I felt such joy and said, "you are amazing... let's do another".  Michael agreed. "This time I am going to just show you the artwork that Elsie created for the poem I have chosen instead of just reading the poem to you," i suggested playfully. We both laughed. Michael was up for the challenge. To my surprise, Michael, proceeded to create the entire arrangement to the poem "One Love One Hope One Dream" without ever hearing the poem read to him. The arrangement was again beautiful and perfectly matched the poem when I did the voice-over.
Our joy and laughter could not be contained as Michael's small darkened basement guitar studio filled with Light. "OK", I giggled, issuing my next challenge. "I am going to just read the next poem I choose to you TELEPATHICALLY". Confidently, Michael smiled, ready for the challenge once again. I turned to another poem at random, guided by Spirit, I am certain. As I silently read the poem, Michael began creating an arrangement which filled my heart with joy. I continued to read the poem silently as Michael played on, fine-tuning the melody. When he finished, I read the poem in sync to the melody he had created. 
I had never had so much fun sitting in a small recording studio "playing" with words and sounds while Michael's long fingers danced along the strings of his guitar. I sat across from him with my bare feet propped on top of his little amplifier box. ( I never did like shoes!) We hugged as we parted knowing we were blessed. "See you tomorrow", Michael waved me good-bye.

Michael and I "played" for five more days in his basement studio, creating 18 original guitar compositions. At his suggestion, we arranged to record the album at SOUNDTRACKS in Battleground, WA. Michael and my friend Steve Vaile had both recorded there. The album was recorded in only 6 mornings under the expert guidance and love of owner, Burke Harris and guitarist/engineer Ronn Chick.
