One night when I was putting my child to sleep I just started singing about how life was easier when I was a child. How I would cuddle up with mom. And how dad could always wipe away my tears. The next day I picked up my guitar and put music to it...

This song talks about an easier time in my life. At the time I wrote the song we had just had our child and we were working and trying to pay on our first mortgage. Life is always a challange, but it is a blessing to be alive. But when I was putting my child down to sleep, I looked at her all comfortable and safe and that is what got me thinking about this song. I just started singing - take me back, to a time, when life was easier and life was kind la la la la la la la take me back to a time when I would cuddle up with mom, daddy could dry all my tears, take me back to those years.
My sister's husband frank Duffy played the instruments on this song and it was first realeased on my Movin' On, Movin' Out album in Pennsylvania. My friend Chris Spoonhower did a great job on the harmonies. My daughter, chelsea and nieces Tasha and Jenny Walter sang on the echo and chorus parts. Lori Hedrick did some talking and laughing in the background to make it sound like a family was sitting around the dinner table.
