Sharrond King


Believing that God has called her to minister to the new generation, Sharrond uses her anointed voice to spread His message. Her current album "Dedicated" has charted Billboards Gospel sales charts for over 35 weeks, peeking at #9. Through spirited lyrics, inspirational melodies, and an anointed voice Sharrond has what it takes to do God's will through her music. According to Sharrond, her songs were truly inspired by God with a purpose to inspire and encourage the saved and to express the love of Christ, so that the unsaved might be lead to Christ.

Born and raised in Marianna, Arkansas, Sharrond began singing at the age of four years old. She got her start by singing in her family gospel group known as the Evening Stars. As a young student she began participating in the church choir, school talent shows, music showcases and more. Sharrond accepted Christ as her personal savior at eleven years old. She continued to participate in musical activities throughout high school including the Lee High School Marching and Concert Band, (instruments played were the clarinet and bari-sax) and a member of the Lee High School Concert Choir.

Prior to the release of her current CD "Dedicated", Sharrond released a regional project or so she thought, entitled "Inspiration". This CD, by the grace of God, not only received airplay on various stations across the country, but also internationally, including Ireland and Puerto Rico.

Sharrond has shared the stage with other gospel recording artists such as: Shirley Caesar, Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers, Eddie Ruth Bradford and Greg O'Quin -N- Joyful Noyze. She was recently named new breakout artist of the East by Gospel Industry Round-Up 2005 Magazine. She has been featured in the Ende Magazine, The Gospel Truth magazine and Gospel EUR (Electronic Urban Report), and was a special musical guest for the 8th Annual Arkansas Black Hall of Fame. Sharrond has shared her ministry live throughout the mid-south including Kentucky, Illinois, Mississippi, Tennessee, and home state Arkansas. She has participated in other events including: The Arkansas Gospel Announcers Guild Showcase, and Special Guest at Riverfest for the Arkansas Talent Showcase. She is a former member of gospel group Encouraged of Paducah, Kentucky. Encouraged has opened for the Mississippi Mass Choir and The Tommy L. Jones, Jr. Workshop, of Louisville, Kentucky. She traveled and ministered with Encouraged throughout Central United States.

Sharrond has blessed the hearts of many and is looking forward to sharing her ministry with the world. Her dream is to fulfill God's purpose for her life, by spreading His message through song, to reach this generation through His word and to lift up the mighty name of Jesus Christ!
