Arresting music that grows more subtle with each hearing
author: Judith Hawkins-Tillirson
I absolutely agree with every point the first reviewer made. Each time I listen to CATAPULT (and it's been some dozens of times, now)I hear deeper levels of creativity, skill, and subtlety. It astounds me that the music alone can tell its own tales without words! Not only that, there are stories within the stories. It sounds odd even to me to write this, but even the biggest, drum-boomiest, most exciting of the tracks brings me a deep and profound sense of serenity and pleasure--it is as though, even on first hearing, each track reveals itself to be and old and much-loved friend. Not a note is awry or wasted; no filler here! The artist's skill can only be experienced, because words simply fail. I adore this cd! It will keep me going until the next release.

You know you really like a CD when you pop it into the CD player and let it play
author: Katrina Stiles, Morgaine and The Pagan Review
You know you really like a CD when you pop it into the CD player and let it play for 2 days straight. In the case of Catapult, you will probably want to keep it going for at least 4 or 5 days, before needing a break.
This music is addictive. It's earthy, it's rocky, it's flowing, it's ancient and timeless, it's simple yet at the same time, it's complicated – and by that I mean there is more going on here than "just" music. Scott tells us stories through the music. No, not through lyrics, through the music. The instruments speak to us in a way only a true musician can make them speak.
Scott shows a real renaissance quality in his work. These songs take your mind to a time of beauty, a time of art. A time that we now, can only escape to in our minds.
I highly recommend this CD, and not only that, I recommend the first time you listen to it, you sit down and REALLY listen to it. Don't just put it on and go about your business. Spend some time with it. Savor it. Close your eyes and let the music take you where it wants to. After that, you'll want to get up and dance with the Ogre. And if you really want to know what that means, well there is another excuse right there to go and buy this CD.
