This CD brings back fond memories of seeing The Shaxe play live before this was even a CD. Now that I live in Alaska, this CD is worn out but lucky for me, I got it onto my iPod intact. I sing along to every song and it's like seeing an old friend when a Shaxe song comes up on shuffle mode. The Shaxe rock!

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the CD sounds. I listen to the CD quite often. The music has a very unique sound, yet captures the feel of their influential artists The Grateful Dead, Phish, and The Allman Brothers Band. They can really jam very well. The Shaxe successfully move the energy level of their music up and down, capturing the essence of thier high-powered live shows. Wonderful work, and I look forward to more! Thanks, Doug.

I have been listening to the Shaxe since they first started out. The effort, growth and creativity that is found on "Walkin' Out My Soul" is evidence of how hard work can pay off. Just about anyone can cut a CD these days, but the Shaxe have digitally captured the sounds of a unified soul.

Walkin' Out my Soul is a great CD from a great local band. Outpost has an Allmanesque instrumental feel. Donna Wanna recalls the lost notes of the Marley-fueled reggae 70's. Painting Pictures and Swirl hit with guitar riffs reminiscent of the good ol'days of Southern Rock. Doug Drakes's pedal steel on Uruguay reminds me of Jerry Garcia on CSN's "Teach Your Children". Finally, the title cut could be a Top Ten single right up with Matchbox 20 and Edwin McCain. All in all, a fine disc of great music from good musicians and good friends.
