Great Sound, Chris G and All
author: Pam Gee
Pleasantly surprised as dad (my ex) Skip Gebhard told me to find yr group Sheboygan and buy "It's Ok to Say Yes" (I will), listening in first: very fresh and original almost Beach Boys and I hear some Beatles influence? Or am I just dating meself? Pam Gebhard yr step mom from CO! and not just reviewing but telling you Chris, you HAD TO BE a musician after yrs of walkin around w Walkman hanging on the old ears, I am very impressed (Austin, Tx must be also!) Great sound, great vocals Glaeser, and again original stuff, it makes me want to "watch and see" what happens to this group, so exciting.

Clever Power Pop!
author: Sparrowheart Music and Media
Sheboygan are one of the best power pop bands coming out of Austin, Texas today. Their carefully structured, melodic sound reflects the sensibility of modern artists like Weezer and indie-pop duo Quasi, and couples gorgeously with the prolific songwriting, vintage sound, and delicate harmonies of bands like the Beach Boys and Badfinger. These boys don't trade in their musical smarts for accessibility by any means; the songs are as clever as they are catchy, crafted with obvious intelligence and style. "Latest Obsession" and "Why Do I Want To Do" are classic love-gone-unrequited songs, while "Time To Die" tackles a darker, more existential perspective. "Home" is a traditional boy-crush song with old school harmonies and a coy but vulnerable delivery that'd make any nice girl want to go home for the summer. With all of the charm and wit a band could hope for, this talented trio is poised to bring some much needed rejuvination to the flagging modern pop scene.

Austin's Sheboygan has something interesting going on. They have a unique sound that combines the melodic sounds of The Jayhawks, Starbelly and The Greenbury Woods with the crunchiness of Enuff Z'nuff and Cheap Trick. The result is a wonderful 4 song EP that satisfies while leaving us wanting to hear more (and what a great name for a band!). This is a fantastic start to a band that has a very bright future ahead of it. Great stuff!
