"Their songs are a delicious combination of nifty bluegrass, bluesy honky tonk and sweet Southern waltzes just made for the back porch." - Sue Keogh, BBC Radio 2
She-Haw's original country sound has been described as "tart, smart, neo-hillbilly," with "haunting harmonies" that "pull old-fashioned Appalachian Gothic into the here and now." Amy anchors the songs with her guitar and Beth adds percussion, playing some combination of a beaded purse, a wooden spoon, a screwdriver and a woodblock; influences range from the Carter Family to Chuck Berry to Tom Waits to Judy Garland.
Amy and Beth describe their music as homegrown and a little bit coarse; their performances as playful, heartfelt and honest. This, their first recorded effort, gives a peek into the beginnings of their five-year musical partnership.
