Sheila Akridge Reed (known as SHELA) is the youngest of two sisters and one brother. She has always had an interest in singing since the age of nine. One Christmas, her parents had given her a small cassette recorder and she spent the entire day making recordings. She would sing and tell everyone what she received that Christmas day...like a big audience would be actually listening.

She lead her first song in the young people's choir at her church and continued to grow from that experience. SHELA wanted to experience a different side of the field...to know what it really felt like singing professionally so she decided to join a recording gospel group. In 1992 she became a member of Spirit-Led mostly based out of North Carolina. Elder Lannie Robertson is the head of this choir.

She appeared with this choir on Bobby Jones Gospel (1993 in Atlanta, Georgia) that aired on BET (Black Entertainment Television). SHELA became one of the lead singers in Spirit-Led and recorded two songs. In 1995, the song "He Cares" was accompanied with Lannie Robertson and in 1997 the song "Give It to Jesus". On this particular song the gospel recording artist under the EMI Gospel label-LeJuene Thompson-accompanied this song with her.

In 1998, she left the choir to pursue other interest in the music field and actually began to do so a year later. In 1999, she collaborated with her best friend who today is her husband --KIKABOO-- on a solo project. The very first song they produced is entitled "He's The One". This song expresses how Jesus is the only One you need....letting all know that if there IS ANYONE WHO CAN HELP US OR UNDERSTAND US....IT IS JESUS..HE IS THE ONE.

From that point on, they produced several other songs and decided to take it a step further and record a demo. On February 2001, they started working and recording the demo at Snow Creek Sounds in Martinsville, Virginia, where the owner is Dr. Thomas Berry. The demo project was completed in July 2001. Since the recording, SHELA and KIKABOO have been praying, preparing and waiting until the Lord directs them where to go from here...

Like the scripture says in Luke 19:13, "...Occupy till I come."

SHELA would like to make a difference in someone else's life...a change...be an example... To her if she can just sing that one song that touches someone's heart then she is doing her part in the on-going process of being a soul winner for Jesus!!!!!
