ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Shelly is a Clinical Psychologist who has been singing and playing guitar since she was about six. She taught herself how to play and discovered she could sing by accident and has been singing ever since. Her music is inspired by both her work and her personal life. Far Away and Gone was written after a bout with cancer. Hence the short hair and hiking hat on the cover. Shelly is a native of Florida and still feels very connected to her home state and the environmental impact its growing population has had on its natural beauty. A visit to her home town brought about the song "Walking Tree" which is about the dwindling mangroves in the area that are of such importance to the health of the wildlife and waterways of the Florida coast. She has been in Oregon for nearly twenty years is just as attached to this state's natural beauty and resources. This is her second album and she plans to make many more and continue the quest for the "perfect song" or at least one as good as the late Dave Carter's, "When I Go" which is pretty close.

Far Away and Gone
I've had the pleasure of owning Shelly Lecher's last two CDs, and I can't get enough! Some of the most moving and complex lyrics you'll hear, that draws you in and literally takes you "far away." Clever harmony tracks; and so peaceful.

KMC

Intensely personal, beautifully performed, incredible lyrics
I really enjoyed this CD. Mountain, Black Elk, and the title track are my favorites. I find the lyrics to be uniformly outstanding-I think some of the well known but song deprived artists(can you say Carrie Underwood) would profit from picking up some of these songs. Overall, an outstanding piece of work. Looking forward to the next offering.

CCK

WOW
lyrics with intense depth, personal sadness, success against all odds, written straight from the heart, sung from the core of her soul

Cecelia Reynolds

exquisite---lyrics and voice!
I was really moved by the songs--Mountain, Gratitude, and Fragile. I wish everyone could listen to these exquisite songs and be comforted, and inspired. These songs are filled with endurance and triumph.

Here are fourteen fantastic lyrical journeys with destinations into the heart and soul that will move any listener.

Soulful and Gripping. wonderful vocals!
You've done an excellant job with this. This CD grabs your attention and yanks at your heart strings. We're waiting for more Shelly, Thanks!

Excellent, Creative, definitely the best so far this year....
LECHER'S MUSIC IS UNIQUE; FAR ABOVE THE RUN OF THE MILL AND DARNED NEAR PLAGAIRISTIC STUFF THAT APPEARS SO OFTEN AS OF LATE. SINCERITY SEEMS TO BE HER KEYNOTE. COMBINED WITH TOUCHING LYRICS AND HAUNTING MUSIC, THIS CD IS A WINNER!!
