Album Notes

Singer-songwriter Shelly Niebuhr recently released her first solo CD "Believe", which features all original songs that surprise, nourish, and charm the listener.

Shelly's musical styles, which she performs on guitar and a host of other instruments, draw from folk, gospel, and blues...yet all delivered with her own unique style.

Songs like "Too Much Stuff...Too Little House" will make you laugh and possibly wonder if she didn't write the song about you.

The CD also features a song called "God Bless The World". Through word of mouth, 33 people came to record the name of the country that they were born in and to sing on the song. Jews, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and Hindus came together to help create a song that belongs to everyone. During the making of the song, everyone realized that they shared the same dreams, hopes and fears. "Indeed, we all drink from the same human cup" Shelly says in her liner notes.

She was the lead singer for the duo ClarySage for several years. The ClarySage CD "Tell Me Your Truth" was played by some U.S. public radio stations, and commercial radio stations around the world. It received positive newspaper and internet reviews.

REVIEWS

Charming, Great Variety, Excellent Solo Debut!

There isn't a song on this album that I don't love. Some are thought-provoking, some are romantic, some are highly spiritual, and some are just plain funny. All are heart-felt, expressive and extremely well done. "God Bless the World" is particularly fantastic. If you enjoy Kate Campbell's music, you'll love and appreciate Shelly, too. Fantastic solo debut from a wonderful artist. Great job, Shelly!

Quiet songs, fun songs, serious songs, all done in beautiful voice, except for Andean Dreamtime, an instrumental song featuring native American-style flute. A great first solo album!
