Album Notes

The Sheremetyev Ensemble was founded in 1997 when its members were students at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire unter the eminent Professor of chamber music, Tigran Alikhanov.
Unter its guidance the ensemble made its first concert appearances. The Sheremetyev Ensemble has plays in many of Moscow's main concert halls and has also tourned throughout Russia. Its musicians have participated in Master - Classes and festivals in Germany, France, Switzerland and Brazil.
In 2002 the Sheremetyev Ensemble recorded its first CD dedicated to the chamber music of the American composer John Mitchell (available also in CDBaby).
The recording was highly praised by the composer: "... I am really delighted with the performance of my works by the Ensemble. They play the music with great energy, understanding and sensitivity, and with superb technique..."
