Album Notes

"C'monMan"is composer/saxophonist Scott Shetlers ten tune CD of original music featuring Scott on tenor, soprano sax, and bass clarinet.

Each one of these primarily jazz/blues instrumental pieces examines a small element of harmony, or change of direction in the melodic line to give the players something to explore.

"C'monMan" was recorded live with an organ trio and several larger chamber jazz groups in the three separate sessions.

There is some wonderful sexy jazz on this record. Very nice.
author: Diana Shonk, Blues Audience
C'MON MAN is very sweet, straight ahead jazz. Everybody loves a saxophone player and Scotty has accompanied a number of Blues Society Blues Band Battle winners to Memphis for the Internantional comp. The CD has no vocals, it is all horns and rhythm. There is a pervasive sense of humor to it, too. 'Loozahville' is a good example. It has some nice solos by piano man, Ken Cook, and guitar by Larry Carsman, bassman Jessie Williams, and the song swings with a little chuckle on the side. Scott has a real ability to make that sax talk to us and here he plays clarinet as well. There is some wonderful sexy jazz on this record. Very nice. If you own a bar you have got to play this one in your dining room, and I mean that as a sincere compliment to the record.

Highly individual and enjoyable contemporary jazz listening.

Scott Shetler does some fine saxophone work with his original compositions on the entertaining CD, "C'mon Man," a lively collection of sounds, harmony, and entertainment! The selection, "Singapore," with Ken Cook on keyboards and other top-notch musicians performing together with Scott Shetler, is a great little number worthy of play time on the jazz radio stations!
