Album Notes

Shindig are Norman Moody, guitarist and singer, Gerry Reece who plays the citern and the banjo, Patrick Finney guitarist and whistler and Alasdair McBroom on the bodhran and melodica.

This album stemmed from Alasdair's idea to make a simple recording of Gerry, as over the regular Thursday night sessions he noticed something in the songs that Gerry chose to play and sing quietly below the noise of the pub. The result is a collection of songs that break away from the normal fare offered up in traditional folk music throughout Northern Ireland. With a nod or two to our relatives over the waters in Scotland, England and America and a few songs about the water itself.
