When I first heard this "voice" at Madison Square Garden last year I was totally amazed....What a beautiful sound.
Then after listening to the CD, I was hooked.  The beauty of her voice and each song really touches you.
What else can I say but...... Shirley is simply amazing !

Reminiscent of Eileen Farrell's  seminal "I Got a Right to Sing the Blues", this album is the perfect marriage of an operatic voice to the 20th century American songbook. The voice is big and emotive, multicolored and capable of alighting perfectly on any emotion.  Beautiful.

I was introduced to the artist by a friend. The piano and voice just go hand in hand. You feel all the emotion and fun she had making this cd.  I also enjoyed the mix of music.  Her donating to the Gilda's fund just touched me.  :)

This album is direct, honest and beautiful.  Shirley has a way of reaching into your heart and helping you to feel the beauty of each song and what it means to you.  The music - simply piano and voice - is bold in its simplicity and richness.  Buy this CD if you like to luxuriate in a musical experience.  I've heard this woman sing in person...she's a winner.  And...she is donating 20% to charity.  This is a win win for everyone.
