Ira Robbins from Trouser Press described this disc as an "essential compilation of Shoes' best..." that spans the years 1977-1987. "The airy vocals, massed fuzz guitars and brilliant songwriting combined for a spine-tingling power-pop onslaught that flawlessly melded melodic '60s traditions with energized '70s sophistication." Compiled from a sampling of classic tunes from their first 5 albums as well as a live cut (Hate To Run from the 1981 Shoes On Ice Ep and later added to the domestic CD release of Boomerang), an early, alternate mix from Stolen Wishes (Love Is Like A Bullet) and a track previously released only in Europe (Pieces Of Glass) that was later added to the domestic CD release of Silhouette. This compilation stands as a great sampling of Shoes' first decade and a perfect introduction to Shoes' music for new fans.

    Had this on a cassette many years ago. Looked for CD everywhere. Thrilled to find it on CD Baby. This CD really is a great representation of the Shoes' work, and as such represents the best power pop ever performed. If you aren't familiar with the Shoes, you really must make a tiny gamble and get this CD. You will not be disappointed.
