This stunningly original album is a descent into femininity. You'll be wrapped up in its winds, absorbing rhythms, sinuous dark harmonies of guitars and fretless bass and sophisticated interwoven voices. Definitely a new musical experience.

shootin' stars is an avant-garde band made up of three Italian girls who possess the power to tease, caress and blow your mind away with their unique music. With their first album “in the morning – in the dark” they bring to new listeners the tunes that have seduced and enchanted their audiences with their velvety soft sounds of blues and dark wave. “in the morning – in the dark” womanly looks into the mysterious faces of the real and the unreal whose bounds are difficult to grasp. They manage to do it through their winds (clarinet, sax and flute), acid rhythms of electronic music, sinuous dark harmonies of guitars and fretless bass and their sophisticated interwoven voices.
“in the morning – in the dark” is a descent into femininity. It finds its essence in the double; in dark lights and luminous shadows.
shootin'stars are:
Francesca Bottaro:drums, clarinet, saxophone, piano, glockenspiel, vocals
Giulia Bottaro: electric bass, flute, vocals, piano, metronome
Francesca Cricco: electric and acoustic guitar, vocals, glockenspiel
Partially influenced by dark wave, blues and bands such as Tuxedomoon, P.J. Harvey and Radiohead, the shootin’ stars managed to create their own unique sound, which seduces the audience with soft and sinuous melodies. Songs are in both English and Italian, incorporating poetry and culture from both nationalities and adding a zing of their own personalities.
The shootin'stars performed at the Circolo degli Artisti in Rome in the opening act of the Icelandic quartet Amiina. In summer 2009, their manager Alexandra Campbell promoted the shootin’stars in London, where they performed in clubs such as The Troubadour, The Buffalo Bar, The Albert&Pearl, The Monkey Chews, The Library…
Back to Rome the shootin’stars performed an acoustic set at the marvellous Castel S. Angelo for the artworks exhibition “A l’infinito m’ergo” .
