Album Notes
“Shotgun Rebellion” bleeds southern tradition, it’s as simple as that. Formed in the southeast Oklahoma town of Ada, "Shotgun Rebellion's" Rick Davis (vocals / guitar), Jon Parr (bass), Randy Cooper (Guitar) and Johni Walker (drums) have come together to capture one of music’s most prized and forgotten ingredients… the Soul.
Creatively blending elements of classic southern rock icons such as “Lynrd Skynryd” and the “Allman Borthers”, country legends “Johnny Cash”, “Hank Williams Jr.”, and “David Alan Coe” with blues master “Robin Trower” and Hard Rock and Metal artists “Black Crowes”, “Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society, "Down", "Corrosion of Conformity", "Pantera", "Black Sabbath" and "Led Zeppelin” with a touch of the Blues…”Shotgun Rebellion combines these influences into a big ol’ kettle, brilliantly pulling out a sound that crosses many genres. With lyrical roots and ideals of outlaw country, the groove and feel of southern rock, peppered with the flavors and intensity of metal…”Shotgun Rebellion” delivers a music gumbo with a whiskey kic for more information on SGR go to or

Oklahoma metal
This is a song list that'll grab you by the wedding vegetables and not let go until the end of the 4th or 5th tune. The guitar lead and rhythm are worthy of being accused of stealing a page from Zakk Wylde's book of genius. The bass riffs and hard driving drum licks just compliment the ensemble, turning it into the total package.
On the other side of the coin, they do justice to the easy side of metal, throwing a few toned-down, but, still sharp edged numbers that remind you even the Gods of rock had to pull in the reins or bust their veins. I'm sure if Dime was still with us, he'd give his blessing to this quartet and would probably have to sit in and bend a string or three.
All in all, this is a great offering and SGR is definitely earworthy. Your ipod will never be the same. They're the band you always wished would crash the high school prom.

Hell, who says they won't?
