The ShovelByrds are a four-piece rock band with a two guitar attack that drives a unique mix of original music and classic rock-n-blues! The current lineup has been performing since 2006 and includes Pat Mahoney (guitar & vocals), Dave Richards (guitar & vocals), Jim Brannon (bass & vocals) and Mike Hilgendorf (drums). Their major influences include Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Warren Haynes and Dickey Betts. The recipe for their music includes a pinch of back alley blues, a taste of modern rock, and a full dose of melody. Originally formed in 1992 as a cover band, the ShovelByrds have just released their debut CD titled “…blame it on the jack”. The CD includes nine original rock-n-blues tunes and their live cover version of Mark Farner’s (Grand Funk Railroad) “I’m Your Captain/Closer To Home”. The ShovelByrds are excited about their original music and are anxious to explore where their new CD will take them.

The ShovelByrds have consistently proven to be a top notch professional level band. Energetic and powerful with their original music, and a hint of perfection with their cover tunes, the ShovelByrds are ready to take on any venue, or event, to showcase their talents.
