Lucy Shropshire, the youngest of 10 children was always partial to all music forms, various instruments, writting music, performing and recording.
Very early on in her life, there was evidence of natural abilities when Lucy began to walk on December 25, 1955, just eight months after her birth. Inspired by the sight of a childsized piano that was bought for her sisters, Lucy pulled herself up and walked over to the instrument and began banging on it as if she knew what it was for. The family watched in awe as she had never seen a piano before.
From that moment on Lucy has been immersed in music of all forms including choral and instrumental music, jazz, gospel, rhythm and blues and country music.
All through her school years, Lucy took advantage of every musical opportunity including, concert band, marching band, chorus, ensembles, accompanying other student artists and music clubs. Eventually Lucy learned to play five instruments and continued her studies with a major in voice and a minor in piano at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
In 1986, Lucy had the privelege of living on the Island of Bermuda where she spent a full year performing at the Hamilton Princess Hotel in a stage production. It was during that time that Lucy wrote a stirring piece of music called "Come Together World". She entered the song into the United Nations "Year of Peace" Song contest for 1986, and won first place out of 40 songs from 12 countries. The song is featured as #2 on this CD.
To date, Lucy has worked in practically every casino music venue in Las Vegas, Nevada where she presently resides. She is also a licensed Entertainment Broker, a licensed Vocal Coach and a promenant recording studio vocalist in the Las Vegas area.
Aside from live performance, studio work, booking entertainment and coaching voice, Lucy continues to make strides in the recording industry with major recording artists like Gladys Knight. She has recorded a duet entitled "Hell to Heaven" with Las Vegas performer Clint Holmes and will be performing with K.C. Porter, Grammy Award winning contributor to Carlos Santanas' Grammy Winning album "Supernatural"......more to with K.C. Porter!!
