Shuly Nathan's disc, "Beloved Songs," contains mostly songs written by one of Israel's best-known and loved songwriters, Naomi Shemer, including "Jerusalem of Gold." Shuly Nathan's version, which she made famous just before the Six-Day War, has become a national hymn in Israel. (In the recent celebrations to mark Israel's 50th year of statehood, "Jerusalem of Gold," sung by Shuly Nathan, was chosen as Israel's most popular song.)

Shuly wrote the music for several other tracks on "Beloved Songs," including the well-known medieval prayer "Ana Eli," poetry by Zelda such as "Black Rose" and "I Cried All Night," and Shuly's own "Blessed Moments."
