Album Notes

ShutterFly

This family band is made up of Taryn Sinclair on lead vocals, David Sinclair and Zak Sinclair on guitars and backup vocals and Erik Scott on drums and percussion. In addition, Lee Oliphant plays bass with the group. They have performed various concerts, music fests and coffee-houses around British Columbia, Canada. They are a versatile group and often appear at smaller venues with a more 'acoustic' format as a trio, or four-piece band.

The individual members of the band have diverse musical experience:

Taryn Sinclair was born in Vancouver in 1977 and has been performing since she was eight years old when she started singing with the Bach Children's Choir. As a child, she performed in musicals and on jingles and recordings. She studied at Capilano College, North Vancouver, B.C.in the Jazz Studies Program. She writes the lyrics and music for the band.

Zak Sinclair is 18 years old and has been playing guitar since he was four years old. He studied at the Vancouver Academy of Music as well as taking private lessons. He has studied various styles and is currently studying jazz. He is hoping to be accepted in the Capilano College Jazz Studies program in Sept. 2003. He sometimes co-writes with Taryn.

Erik Scott, born in Kamloops, B.C. in 1980, is Taryn and Zak's cousin. He has been drumming for many years. He has played with different groups, doing various gigs around the province. His other band, "Means To An End" has recently released a cd.

David Sinclair, who is Taryn and Zak's dad, has also been performing since he was a child. He's one of Canada's leading guitarists, touring all over the world with such artists as k.d. lang on her Ingenue tour and most recently with Sarah McLachlan on her Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, Surfacing and Lilith Fair tours. He has appeared on many television shows including David Letterman, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Good Morning America and Saturday Night Live. He is in high demand in Vancouver's session scene. David has written and performed music for numerous TV shows, currently the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Tom Stone and Edgemont. He has also been involved with the series North of 60, Millenium, The Lone Gunmen, Wolf Lake and, most recently, The Twilight Zone. David has performed and recorded with many other artists. He keeps very busy as a producer as well. He also co-writes with Taryn.

Relly great CD. The compositions are fresh and alive and the vocals are sooo nice. I love it! The guitar playing is also terrific, well done! I wish more of this kind of stuff was played on radio - Hope it's only a matter of time!
