Lover’s Life exposes the gripping spiritual love affair of the devotional practitioner who, in the spirit of the Gopis of Vrindavan, becomes enraptured with God in the form of the divine Cowherder, Shri Krishna. In Lover’s Life, Shyamdas reads Loving Wisdom, his original translation and commentary of Shri Vallabhacharya’s teaching, “Wisdom, Perseverance and Refuge.”
“The yogi in love needs only to whisper the Beloved name, and every desire is fulfilled. To hear Shyamdas speak of the Lover’s Life is to be transported into the eternal, magical realm of love, where infinite possibilities become possible.” – Sharon Gannon, founder of Jivamukti Yoga
“The dharma of refuge is a state of being that can be found everywhere, in all undertakings. To the lover, this is apparent. It is the heart of the yogas, their inner secret…Seeing the Beloved’s dance in all things and accepting His amazing movement is freedom and makes the bhakta fearless…Her romance is developed. Every occurrence is just another exchange with the Beloved.” – Lover’s Life
Shyamdas, well-known devotional practitioner, author, and musician, presents Bhakti Yoga programs that combine ecstatic kirtan singing with stories and teachings from the path of devotion. He speaks from his background as a Vedic scholar and Sanskrit translator to share the philosophy of non-dual reality.
After traveling to India in 1972 to meet Neem Karoli Baba, Shyamdas continued to explore the Bhakti lineages of India with his guru, Goswami Shri Prathameshji. Shyamdas has lived in Vraj, the sacred lands of Shri Krishna, for 35 years. He has written and translated more than 20 books on Bhakti Yoga and the Path of Grace. Shyamdas specializes in classical Dhrupada music and the mystic poets of North India and is a recognized speaker in the West as well as in India.
Shyamdas presents Bhakti Yoga workshops internationally on non-dual devotion. He explores with his audience the individual\'s soulful relationship with the Beloved, who is everything in existence and beyond, yet also very personal. In the Path of Grace, the devotional practitioner develops broad, loving view as well as direct relationship with the all-blissful divine. Shyamdas’ presentations of authentic bhakti teachings are unique, yet firmly rooted in tradition and filled with the nectars of devotion.
Shyamdas has released four audio CDs which reflect the diversity of his musical and devotional experiences. They are Songs of Sweetness: Absolutely Live, the live double-disc Cool Dual, the ecstatic and poetic Sweet Radhe! and classic Beloved Chants.
