Album Notes

I met Sergio on the beach one day when he was sunning with two sisters, Onita and Elis. They were having a party that night at Sergio's so they invited me and naturally I accepted. Sergio's place overlooked the Acapulco bay and had all those loud colors that were popular back in the sixties. Very James Bondish. There were lots of mini skirts and bouffant hairdos, and back in one corner of the room I heard some music so I made my way over there. The sisters were kind of swaying to the music which was a cross between lounge, dance, bossanova, and a little Tom Jones thrown in for good measure. That was it thirty years ago and here it is today.

Vibrant and Enthralling!
author: Smoothjazz.com Review
Sergio's back... that crazy, swingin' cosmopolitan! Who, as you know by now, spends most of his time in Acapulco. This time ‘round his musical outing is inspired by his domicile… the ladies man lives in the quintessential bachelor pad… where the life and legend of Sergio began. While Sergio has a steady stream of female companionship, we’re pleased to report that he continues his relationship with his two “musical beauties,” his stunning sidekicks Calamari and Onita. BACHELOR PAD offers 18 lush lounge and retro tracks for your enhanced enjoyment ranging from time traipses through the 1960s to clever contemporary chill and sunny dance pop. You’ll be caught up in the grooviness from the get go as Sergio himself welcomes you “so much” to his latest musical rendering depicting the bachelor in his love-drunk, permanent vacation home of sunny Acapulco. SIA is a lifestyle, an escape, a fun distraction and a favorite of ours here at SmoothLounge.com. We’re captivated by the concept and turn the music up real loud! Especially on tracks like the vibrant and enthralling “Vacation,” the delightfully delirious “Cherry Pie,” as well as Sergio’s sultry version of “It’s Not Unusual,” and the amazingly era-authentic cover of “Working On A Groovy Thing.” We also laugh and hum along to “Manflowers,” the ultimate whistle-while-you-shave, shower and cologne yourself tune. BACHELOR PAD invites you to lounge in one of the coolest concept collections ever made. Bring the legend home today! ~SANDY SHORE
