ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
What do you get when you cross a retired child actor, a laid off machinist, a burnt out audio engineer and a bicycle mechanic? You get the four cornerstones of the alt rock quartet Sick Water. Kaylan, Nate, Justin and Andrew have been secretly planning to take over the world from within the confines of a North Hollywood, CA garage for over 3 years now. And now, armed with their full-length debut album "Aqua Vista", which was recorded in the very same garage, and a loyal So Cal following, SW has set their diabolical plan in motion.

The band has set themselves apart from run of the mill rock with a unique two vocalist approach, and by taking elements of classic rock, punk, indie, pop and hard rock to create their own guitar sound that has been described as mod grunge. Since it's inception, the tenacious four piece has been gigging all over the Southern California area with ferocious performances at the Hard Rock Café, Whisky A Go Go, The Dragonfly, 14 Below, The Martini Lounge, The Cobalt Café, King King, Mr. T's Bowl, The Coconut Teaszer, and many more, as well as a triumphant showcase in Austin, TX at South By Southwest (SXSW) 2003 and several shows in the greater Phoenix area. Stephanie Andolini of Music Connection Magazine wrote, "The unique appeal of this band really comes from the unusually upbeat sound. The audience loves the upbeat aspect of their show," and "this young band could become a force to be reckoned with."

SW's raucous live show combined with a self-recorded, full-length debut album of infectious, raw and powerfully fun rock songs has Sick Water poised to make serious waves on the entire music scene.

This album is so good that I BOUGHT IT! OHHHHH
This Cd is Very good. It sounds professionally produced and the songs on it make me happy. My girl really liked it to. I usually only listen to electronica, so for me to listen to some form of rock, the songs must not only be original and fantastic, but super original and KILLER FANTASTIC. Aquavista is all that and + kaylan is great. I wish we were both gay... oh well, girls just rock too hard.

The Future of Rock and Roll
In short, Sick Water ROCKS and ROCKS HARD. They also have a head on their shoulders - with smart lyrical phrasing and a no-frills musicality that wears well over many listens. If this is the future of rock and roll - we'll all be better off.

This CD makes me want to drink SHPUM and LIKE IT!
There are more hooks on this album then on every vest in the movie A River Runs Through It. The production is great (I wish I could work with this producer) and I have no idea why I don't hear this on the radio. The vocals and lyrics are genuine and non-cheesy. The bass lines are oh-so-delicious. Some of the best bass work I've heard in the rock genre. My only knock on the album is that the hi-hats sound like they are the size of Montana. Buy this CD... it will never leave your car....er, your discman... er, your iPod (you geek).

"Why do they call me retard?"
I liked this CD a lot until I listened to the secret track. It's about a guy named larry that rides a short bus to school and gets beat by his father when he comes home. This reminded me of my own childhood and brought tears to my eyes. In case anyone is wondering, they still call me retard

Rawk!
Hella tight. Not your typical rock band and that's a damn good thing! SW blows you apart with this CD which sounds like something out of a professional's hands. The drums are so sweet, but to be honest, the entire band rawks!

Like buying a sweet used car.
There isn't much on this record that I haven't heard before, but that isn't a bad thing. I still listen to those old records I bought in the mid-90s. I like those records. And I would certainly listen to them over the rap-rock turds that my radio shits out nowadays. But back to Sick Water... The songs are well crafted and catchy. And for a indie rock band they are surprisingly unpretentious. The songs are fun and despite my best efforts, I found myself singing along a few times. This is an impressive debut, and I expect that the next record will be great.
