Album Notes

Sigma is an Ambient/Electronic-music duo from Helsinki Finland. Sigma started 1997 when previous proge-musicians Mauno Tuominen and Petri Frestadius got inspired from old analog-synthesizers. Sigma has always been a live-band with strong improvisational touch.

Music With Analog Improvised Soundscapes is based on improvisations done with analog synthesizers and sequencers.
The unique sound of these old instruments have been a big inspiration to this music. Modern computer software have been utilised to capture these sounds and to arrange compositions. This record is an interesting combination of old analog sounds and modern computer generated digital effects.

The main instuments used are Akai EWI3000 wind-synthesizer, Korg MS10 and Yamaha CS15 controlled by SEKU a self made analog sequencer (a list of all instruments/compositions can be found in our web-pages).
