SIKYON (pronounced: Se-quoi-an) music creatively combines the boundaries of rock, metal, blues, folk, alternative, world & tribal genres into powerful guitar and percussion driven instrumentals.
MUSIC VIDEO RELEASED 11/22/2008!
Description:
An acoustic guitar player sits comfortably on a stool in an isolated location. As he starts to play the guitar his mind wonders and assembles the other instruments that begin to forge a song. As he plays one part his thoughts construct the other orchestrations that echo a somewhat tribal yet Mediterranean vibe.
Next a graceful belly dancer pops into his mind and starts to dance to the music. Then an alter ego of him appears playing one of the djembe drums. The musical composition starts to come together while the representation of water, earth, wind and fire all start to dance together for this moment in time.
The music written for this video is an instrumental consisting of 12 string acoustic guitars, West African djembe drums, bongos, chimes, shakers and other percussion. The music would best be described as a cross between island, alternative, tribal, concept and world genres and would be played on radio stations like 'The Current' and is played on the 'Cities97 New!' website.
The video itself was filmed in High Definition wide screen format (not available in HD or Blue Ray at this time) using a combination of green screen cinematography and computer animation. Fans of the music video best describe it as "refreshing", "entertaining", "hypnotic" and "a cool vibe".
The contents of the DVD include:
1) "The Unknown Path" music video
2) An interview with behind the scenes footage
3) An interactive music menu with 7 songs which includes the previous SIKYON CD and the new single release "The Unknown Path"

Nice prog/intrumental rock

I really like this album. Each song sounds like a chapter and those chapters make up the story that the artist is trying to tell. I just wish it wasn't so short.
