Album Notes

Silke Aichhorn is one of the most requested and versatile harpists of her generation, performing as a soloist as well as in chamber formations. The public and critics alike widely applaud her concerts and she is considered to be one of the few harpists who is successful in presenting the harp as soloinstrument.
Aichhorn studied at the well-known Lausanne Conservatory, Switzerland, where she received first prize with honours, and at the Hochschule Köln, Germany. In addition she has won numerous cultural awards and prices in international competitions.
Thanks to her vast repertoire and experience in various chamber formations, she is regularly invited at international music festivals and as soloist with prestigious orchestras.
A frequent guest in radio and television programs, she also gives concerts all over Europe and has been invited to Thailand, Japan and the U.S.A.
She is a member of the Trio ArpaCantabile (Soprano-Mezzosoprano-Harp) and of the Austrian Ensemble for New Music of Salzburg ÖENM, with the flutist Prof. Dejan Gavric she maintains a intensive collaboration.
In 2004 Aichhorn held a substitute teaching position in the Conservatory of Feldkirch/Vorarlberg, she regularly gives master classes and is invited as jury member for harp competitions. Until now she has recorded 14 CDs. In August 2006 she founded her own CD-Label HÖRMUSIK.
