From the edge of the Rockies in Western Canada comes a new voice in Canadian music: 'Sillan & Young'. The group has been described as a unique blend of acoustic folk and contemporary urban music. The dynamic writing of guitarist Aaron Young tempered with the melancholy lyrics of vocalist Johanna Sillan'paa, has struck a unique musical balance. Coupled with rich sound of double bassist Kodi Hutchinson and the intricate grooves of drummer Rob Vulic, 'Sillan & Young' manages to reach out to their audience with a very heartfelt and sincere sound.

Known best for the intimate nature of their live shows, 'Sillan & Young' pride themselves on being able to bring the music to their audiences at level not often seen in a concert setting. The sheer virtuosity of Young's guitar playing and range of expression exhibited by Sillan'paa, must be seen to be believed. Originally conceived as a duo in mid 2002, 'Sillan & Young' quickly recognized the need to expand the group to fully realize the nature of their music. Long-term allies, Rob Vulic and Kodi Hutchinson joined the group later that year. The band's debut release 'Better Thing' is an honest musical statement reflecting the true nature of the ensemble. Every member of the group brings a coherent vision of the music to their audience.
