Album Notes

This country boy doesn't wear a cowboy hat, but loves traditional country music and has a true country heart. He loves the sound of Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Hank Sr. & Jr. Growing up on a small farm in central California gave this farm boy the incentive to create songs that depict life in the country. He started writing songs with a friend, Curtis Marsh, during college. He talked about moving to Nashville many times. His decision to move to Nashville came when a friend dared him to audition for the Nashville Star Show, airing on USA Network. With no prior performing experience Brandon won the local competition and went on to be one of 12 finalist's chosen out of 8000 applicants, to compete on national TV.

He recorded Act Naturally on the Nasvhille Star CD. This was to be his first song performed in front of millions of viewers on national TV. The friends he made and the performing experience on the show fueled his desire to continue with a singing career. He recorded his first CD, THAT BOY AIN'T RIGHT, in Nashville. Brian Kolb helped produce the CD. This CD contains a traditional country sound, with Brandon's unique twist on country life, love and beer drinking. There's a song for country fans of all ages. His voice has traces of Buck Owens, Hank Williams, Jr., Garth Brooks, as quoted by some of his fans who have heard the CD, you be the judge!

Brandon spent 2 years traveling and performing across the US, from NYC to Las Vegas and Canada, traveling back and forth from Nashville to California. He finally made the move to Nashville, (Mar. 06) to be near the best music scene in the US. He's been writing songs with another NS finalist Prentiss Varnon. His plans for 2007 are to record a 2nd CD and put together another band and start performing again. He didn't have time to do much of that this past year. He has opened for Lonestar, Joe Nichols, Trace Adkins and Buddy Jewell, SHeDAISY, Phil Vassar and Tracy Byrd. While opening for Joe Nichols in Fresno he was presented with a plaque from one of the song writers of Act Naturally, Vonnie Morrison, she loved his performance on NS. The song was originally recorded by Buck Owens and released in March of 1963 and again by Brandon 40 years later in March 2003.

Track #5, Life Don't Get Much Better than This, was released (April/May 2004) to several hundred stations across the US. This song was in the top 40 NMW country charts for several weeks and Brandon was notified that track #3, Heaven Needs Angels won 3rd place in the Billboard World Song contest for 2004. Keep watching for Brandon to become the next big thing in country music!

It is like buying a greatest hits CD. Hope Brandon keeps putting out more CDs. There is not much more to say about the CD except you need to buy it so maybe Mr. Silveira can get more recognition.
