Album Notes

Tamara Silvera is a Canadian born Los Angeles based singer songwriter. Her songs are deceptive. They seem simple enough, cut from the familiar cloth of pop music. Listen a few times, and you will find an unexpected depth and intensity that belies the simplicity of first impressions. In short, the music really grows on you. SINK OR SWIM, her debut solo release spawned notable placements in BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and THE GHOST WHISPERER. DEPARTURES, her second release is a collection of songs that chronicle loss, change and the personal evolution that leads to redemption. DEPARTURES produced by Grammy Award winner John Whynot features some of the last known recordings of the late Wes Wehmiller, bassist extraordinaire. Silvera continues to write and play gigs in Southern California.

It's all right here on LA singer/songwriter Tamara Silvera's Departures…a startlingly soul-baring release produced to a gritty brilliance by Grammy-winning vet John Whynot. Silvera's stellar voice (she's a vocal coach to LA pros) and mature songwriting deliver hooks and searing messages throughout…and can't be recommended highly enough. --Bryan Beller, August Issue Bass Player Magazine
