Produced by Ged Foley in 1998, this was a debut CD for the popular Silver Arm who were strongly influenced by The House Band. These musicians were not afraid to update the traditional, often writing additional melodies and verse. The Beech Tree offers a wide range of tunes, from standard Irish and Scottish fare to compositions from French hurdy-gurdy players. The band features fiddle, flute, whistles, guitar and bouzouki, concertina and oboe (a great addition bringing harmony, texture and richness to the band's sparkling sound) .... with skillful playing, unusual tunes and fresh arrangements
