Album Notes

Finally, the new album, The Silvermen Attack! is unleashed on the world!!!! And it's the best one yet! Includes the instumental "Attack!" as featured on the Mancow Morning Show.

Mixing styles such as rockabilly, surf, country&western, blues and everything rock-n-roll, The Silvermen have created a unique, one of a kind sound. Rock-n-roll was just playin' possum and The Silvermen are living proof!!

" We are the Evel Kenieval of Rock-N-Roll! Our live show is, straight up, a daredevil event...minus the motor cycle, the helmet and the life threatening aspects, for now anyway!"- Zoop.

The Silvermen have shared a stage with some of Rock and Roll's greatest artists, including the Reverend Horton Heat, Southern Culture on the Skids, the legendary King of Surf Dick Dale, Link Wray, the Los Strait Jackets, the Paladins, the Red Elvises, country phenomenon Junior Brown, Deke Dickerson, the Legendary Shack Shakers, Split Lip Rayfield, the Hacienda Brothers, Wayne "The Train" Hancock and many others. They've also just recently landed an endorsement deal with DiPinto Guitars. Zoop also just landed an endorsement deal with Hallmark Guitars.

"Okay, I'm finally listening to "the Silvermen Attack" after getting it back from Michele yesterday. I'm on "Torn Up" and out bursts some killer harmonica. I say to myself, "Self, I know that harp!" That's the Colonel! (of The Legendary Shack Shakers) Nice work getting JD to do some great licks on that track. Joshua is a friend and client. Really great to know it is indeed a small world full of good people in Musicland."

Lovin' "Attack" so far.....

Dennis Oh (Mr. Microphone, custom harmonica mic guru)

"According to the Silvermen's website, "Rock-n-roll was just playin' possum". But calling this rock-n-roll is ambiguous at best. Rather, this amalgam of rockabilly, surf rock, country, blues, jazz, swing and punk is probably best described as "Ronky Donk", a term borrowed from "Ronky Donk Machine", the second track on The Silvermen Attack!

The Exclamation point at the end of the previous sentence is in the title of the album, and for good reason, because this album is packed with energy from end to end, and sounds something like Dick Dale, The Reverend Horton Heat and Meatloaf got into a motorcycle accident... with Evel Knievel. Guitar-driven instrumentals sandwich the album, with the songs in between including the likes of "Torn Up" (Track 3) a fun rocker about a breakup that quotes "Raiders of the Lost Ark", and "Peepo & Skaught", a bouncy southern rocker with just a hint of ska and (dare I say it) an anthemic-sounding chorus. A sense of humor will definitely help the listener along; consider "One Of The Things", a saxy stalkery love anthem, and "Sizzle Went The Hand", a story song about why your mom told you not to touch her hot stove. Exclamation point, indeed!"

Favorite Track: Track 3, "Torn Up"

This is my latest favorite CD! I have been a fan of the Silvermen since the second time I saw them play live. The first time, I really did not get 'em, but, by Jove, I got 'em NOW! I listen to 'Ronky Donk Machine' twice on the way to work in the morning, and twice on the way home at night! When the movie is made about the life of SRV, if Zoop does not play Stevie Ray, I ain't goin' to see it! If you do not buy this CD right now, you will have bad luck and misfortune from this day forward!

I'd say it was Incendiary but that was their first album. "Attack" captures the forward driving momentum of this high energy smoking album. Exciting original music! Sizzling!!!

Smooth and exhilerating, hits so hard it'll put ripples on a glass of water a mile away! From the opening track to the last note this CD will tear you up! Hard hitting, rocking and fun. These guys get it and let you know it. Catchy hooks and twisting lyrics. You must have this CD in your collection.

If you think The Silvermens previous album, "Incandiary, Luminary" is energy and high speed, try listen to "Attack!". This time The Silvermen moving on to something even more harddriving, blending there traditionel and roots-orientated influences with some more modern sounds. Some of the tracks even has a touch of heawy metal, punk and guitar-experiments related to those of Jeff Beck. The trademark is still the joyfull rock and roll with great surf-guitar sounds, and therefore the music is still very melodic, but with more sharpness and agresivity. Not the album for relaxin' and quiet times. But when you are in the mood for something really going on, rockin', rollin', shakin' music, this is it. "Attack!" leaves nothing back, but rocks to the limit. But a few times on the way it takin' dovn a bit, f.i. the beautifull "One Of The Things", a melodic country-rocker with a steady going beat. Many of the tracks are surprising journeys through an idea, progressin' from one point to another, with funny intermezzos going strange places: jazz, acapella doo-wop and much more. Thruly interesting and inspiring. Imagine The Ventures meeting up with Bliss 182 on a corner in New York, and together visiting all the undergroung music clubs of Manhattan. But in spite of all that "Attack!" is not complicated or sofisticated. It's as solid and straight ahead as can be, but not afraid of crossing stylistic borders.
