Monica Silverstrand has just completed her first solo country album. After working in many areas of music for many years, Monica Silverstrand has finally found a home with country music. This American style of music has taken the world by storm and Monica's soulful, sensitive voice expresses the pain, disappointment, joy and humor that we all experience.

"You have to have lived in order to sing country music for real", says Monica Silverstrand. After enduring the break-up of two marriages and losing both parents within the space of a year, Monica decided to channel her energies in making this album. "Life does go on, and like a line from one of the songs on the album - When you've been on the bottom you learn to reach for the sky," says Monica.

The album, which is written and produced by American songwriter/producer Brian Hobbs along with his Swedish and American co-writers contains everything from "kick-ass" country rock and pop to tender ballads. In other words, "real country!"


About Monica Silverstrand
Monica Silverstrand released her first country album in June 2003. She has been active in the Swedish music industry for many years, appearing with various bands and also performing in musicals. She has participated three times in the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest and in musicals such as Fame, Carmen Anamma and the new musical by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulveus, Kristina från Duvemåla. As a teenager she was a soloist in the well-known Swedish band, Wizex. Monica's voice can also be heard on many Swedish versions of animated Disney films.
