I've not heard a better example of this highly difficult genre. I love hearing two distinct styles overlapping, complimenting each other's energy. This one's fresh. (- AcidPlanet listener)

Album Notes

Today, many pop and traditional music fans quickly overlook the creativity and artistry of electronic music because it doesn't focus on overly simplistic, 3 minute, pop driven rhythms. Instead, the new generation of electronic music is left to the true music fans, who desire a mastery in the creation of intermixing some traditional elements with a vast array of spontaneous ideas. SIM_01 is the new artist bridging the void between the pop fans and the new generation.

SIM_01 brings to electronica the energy and human aspect of the music that is often forgotten. A concentrated focus not to create music that is just a collection of dance beats and rhythms but music that combines the creativity and foresight of music influences like Moby and Beck; artists who have ventured into the forefront of presenting unpredictable song structures with the attitude of "breaking all the rules."

An Elite Artist
author: Theglobalmuse.com
This is electronic music that actually means something and actually does something for the listener. I love electronic music that progresses and goes somewhere. To me, that is what this genre is all about. SIM_01 is an artist that exemplifies those characters and qualities of music. The music on this album is by far some of the best that I've heard. The music has movement and very impressive arrangements that simply cook. The sound quality and recording of this album is equally as impressive. I had sounds hitting me from all directions. There where sounds coming from speakers that weren't even hooked up

You really REALLY need to check this out

If you're a fan of techno acid (hey this is a MUSIC site, remember that), you really REALLY need to check out “Radiophonic Oddity” by L.A. Groovemaster SIM_01. There's over a decade of experience behind these beats, and it shows. You'll find quite a bit of substance within the mixes, a refreshing change and far cry from most of the “electronic dance noise” D & B I'm accustomed to suffering through. No 'beat based upon a sampled leaky faucet' monotony here. SIM_01 has this awesome ability to rip several soundscapes into a single performance without revealing any unsightly “acoustic edges.”

Techno how it was meant to be
author: Godsofmusic.com
As a listener who is not a techno aficionado but gets exposed to plenty of techno, I have to say that this is some of the most interesting techno I have heard in a long time. It has the very up tempo beat and energy of the Drums N’ Bass genre but manages to circumnavigate the franticness for a three dimensional texture of counterpoint and sounds from all eras of technological music. (One 80s-ish patch even starts out sounding oddly like a theremin.) And the sounds aren’t only put together well, but they sound good, too. The guitar patch is great. This is techno how I think it was meant to be by its creators, a tool for creating an atmosphere. This one envelopes you, well. Each new listen, and even within listens, this track gives your ears latitude to travel about through its environment, exploring, as it were. This song is much better than the “teenager-with-acid-on-my-PC” brand which pervades mp3.com. Chris Simental clearly takes the time and has the ears to create cool and interesting grooves. I recommend this to techno fans (i immediately e-mailed it to my biggest techno-fan friend). I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
