ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
SIMEO

Let us take this time an introduce you to Simuel Overall aka (Simeo)
At an early age family could tell you that Simuel was
going to be an entertainer because he loved being in the spotlight.
He began singing and dancing at family gatherings at four
years old. Often times imitating James Brown. It even followed him into
his school years. In his senior year he put on a concert for the whole school
performing with a couple of band members of Midnight Star.

One winter while visiting relatives in Rochester. NY.
Simeo's cousin Teddy got a drum set for Christmas. Simeo seeing
his cousin play the drums live, set off a love of music
that continues to this day. "I remember asking my mom for a whole
year it seemed to buy me a drum set and eventually she gave in"

Simeo became very good at playing drums and by the time he was ten
he began performing in a professional setting. At one time considered
to be the hottest new cat on drums in Detroit. Simeo has performed
with The Dramatics, The Spinners(Billy Henderson), Cameo, Cashflow
Jazz guitar legend Grant Green, Dr Billy Taylor, Jazz legend Dexter Gordon
LJ Reynolds, Commercial with Kool and The Gang for schlitz Malt
Liquor featuring the Platters, and many others. NAJE award for best jazz
drummer signed by Professor Clark Terry, Alan Dawson Berkley,
Joe Jones(Coltrane,Miles Davis Drummer) 1980.

While having the opportunity to be produced by Michael Powell producer
for Anita Baker and Aretha Franklin, Simeo would learn how to write
songs and produce music and what he learned would lead to writing for
several chart topping artist such as r&b hall of fame group Cameo. Cashflow.
Mickey Howard. Arsenio Hall, Grace Jones, Carl Anderson(Color Purple)
Rap tracks featuring, Jada Kiss, Sheek, MC Breed, Jae Millz,
Cameo earning a Grammy nomination, American Music award, Two Soul
Train awards BET r&b group of the year 1987. Most notable Cameo CD.
Machismo 1987 featuring Miles Davis, Fred Wesley. Maceo Parker. Randy
and Michael Brecker, Benard Wright, Bradford Marcellus Simeo's song
I Like The World from the CD would be featured in the Kim Bassinger,
Dan Ackroyd movie My Step Mothers An Alien.

Simeo would also score two top ten hits with Cashflow 1988 with whom he sang
and performed on keyboards. Cashflow would also score a big movie sound
track with the song Big Money taken from the hottest rap group of the eighties
The Fat Boys movie Disorderlies.

Today Simeo still enjoys writing songs and recording. He's looking forward to
his solo CD release summer 2009. Shout outs to Larry Blackmon.Tomi Jenkins
Charlie Singleton, Nathan Leftenant, Gaylord Parsons, kary Hubert, James
Duffie, Bunny Ramson and all the Cameo Family. Peace.
