About the Artist
Christopher Simmons began playing percussion at the age of six, listening to Moody Blues records, and learned to play piano and double organ as a teenager. He has been a MIDI-based musician since the very first MIDI instrument was released. He has been a member of Pets Gone Wild, a co-founding member of Project Eleven, the sole member of Bluetoy, and his music has been used as theme music for two cable-tv productions including "Viewpoints on Video," and the award-winning "VidKidCo." He released six albums in the late 1980s. Today he records on the Neotrope Records label.
Album Description
Beserker is a digitally remastered edition of a vintage electronica, world beat, "space music" recording originally released in 1986. Bonus track, "Densitelemetry," was used as the theme music for the cable-tv series "Viewpoints on Video," in 1987. This instrumental CD has the flavor of Jan Hammer, Tangerine Dream, and Howard Jones, with vintage analog synths and a wide range of percussive textures.

author: David O.Take a listen to this panache of amazing poly-rhythmic techno-electronic music from Chris Simmons! From start to finish this CD will provide the listener with wall to wall ear-candy. There are tunes that call to mind Jan Hammer and others that are reminiscent of the bar scene in Star Wars. Check out “This is a Blank” which made me think of a clone manufacturing plant. Unlike many others of the genre, Christopher is never content to drone on with the same sound instead His inventive use of samples seemingly unending variety of percussion sounds makes Beserker a treat for the ears indeed. It is the aural surprises awaiting the listener within each carefully orchestrated piece that make Beserker an outstanding piece. Highly recommended.
