Album Notes

Simon Hinkler is a name well known to many in the alternative scene of the 80's. He started out as a member of bands such as Artery and Pulp, then went on to international success as founding lead guitarist in The Mission.

Lose The Faith is Simon's first solo album. Here, he showcases his distinctive guitar style, and for the first time reveals his talents as a singer songwriter. Fans of The Mission will be more that satisfied with the musical style and production. The songwriting is strong, with outspoken honest lyrics delivered convincingly by Simon, who (it turns out) has quite a rich and versatile voice. Who knew!?

Lose The Faith was written and recorded in New York, often capturing the impersonal, claustrophobic feel of the city, while tackling difficult subject matter such as religion, self-awareness and social politics. The overall result is a very listenable and entertaining album. Great work!

Larry Steinmann
NYC, 2007
