ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The label’s aim is to revisit traditional music, rhythms and sounds by contemporary means of virtual instrumentation and sound processing. Simon Lazarú , producer and world musician, emulates vintage world music and indigenous instruments like kalimba, mbira or talking drum. By this he takes you back to the golden era of Congo music, South African Marabi, Son Cubano, West African Highlife and many others, whereby the sustainment of their special feeling and vibes remains essential. Some outstanding rhythms, styles and instruments are reproduced by contempory digital sampling, also including different natural and environmental soundscapes.
