Magnetic and addictive
author: Robin Cline
Thanks to the Showtime series The L Word, I recently got turned on to Fans of Jimmy Century - their fantastic song Hot Sahara from Twist of the Banshees was featured on one of the episodes this year - and this led me to Simon Stinger. I've had the Devil On My Mind cd for a week now and can't stop listening to it. Every track delivers, there's no filler here, folks, it's the real deal. Magnetic and addictive, this stuff, with energy to spare, and Alicia's vocals are beyond infectious - she is one of the best singers I've ever heard, plain and simple, with a voice that evokes so many different emotions all at one time, just brilliant. The songs are beautifully written and superbly realized, each and every one. Alicia, you rock my world.

Record of the Year 2000?!
author: Teenage Kicks
It may be too soon to call this the record of the year, but to give you an idea of how much I love it, let me tell you this... I played this CD everyday for months and even got a second copy to play at work! Nobody out there now sounds like Simon Stinger or their amazing singer, Alicia Perrone. There isn't a dull moment on this record and "Summertime" and "Hollywood Ending" are amongst the best songs I've heard in a long time. A recent line-up change has made them sound even better. Check them out now!

author: San Francisco Weekly Review By Silke Tudor
Led by the enchanting force that is Alicia Perrone -- think Blondie's coquettish sleaze, Siouxsie Sioux's histrionic wail, and Joan Jett's surly punch -- Simon Stinger recently landed a cameo and a song in the Dan Aykroyd and Kirk Douglas comedy Diamonds, but that's a small accomplishment next to the realization of Devil on My Mind. The San Francisco quartet's second independent release is a 21st-century girl's revelation of all that was enjoyable in the '80s: the belief in ego, love, and music; the freedom of blazing down the freeway with dried roses hanging from your rearview mirror; the simple joy of pounding your feet in the dark corners of a nightclub filled with black-clad fans who believe in the star potential of their local musicians...
