Album Notes

The group Simpatico was the result of a collaboration between myself and saxophonist Victor Cajiao back in 1995. Vic and I had amassed quite a following with this group on the Los Angeles and Orange County live circuit. We had the opportunity to work with a great group of musicians on stage and in the studio. Featured on drums is the late Brian Zsupnik, who made his name as drummer for Boz Scaggs, Michael McDonald, Peter Cetera and Jeff Bridges. I had the honor of working with my good friend Rebecca Lopez (Lewis) who was a background vocalist on the Steely Dan "Aja" album, Barry Manilow's live shows, Quincy Jones projects and hundreds of other sessions.Other featured musicians are Ed Scannell on guitar, Larry Kester on keyboards, Todd Smith on bass, John Deemer on trumpet and flugelhorn, and Serena Pallett on backing vocals. Vic covers the saxophone chores and I round out the section on trombone and keys. Victor has gone on to be a podcasting guru, and I have gone on to composing and arranging as my main pursuit. Still, the Simpatico "Resolve" sessions stand the test of time. Enjoy! Joe Cristina - Fullerton, California
