"I first met Mike Simpson at a session in 2001 in Atlanta just before I moved there. Over the next 6 years I played often with Mike at sessions and gigs in the US and even in Ireland. Over the years I’ve enjoyed Mike’s camaraderie, but I’ve also come to appreciate his passion for Irish music. Mike’s playing has a graceful intensity to it that isn’t pushy but demonstrates his command of his instruments and his grasp of the complexities of traditional music. After playing with Mike for 6 years, I moved away from Atlanta, but I always enjoy the chance to visit, to play with Mike, and to listen to his tunes.
