“A stagnant mind is an enemy of success.” This is the principle to which the Houston metal-core group, Since the Ashes, has strictly adhered since their formation barely over a year ago. Through perseverance and a driven attitude, they have striven to ensure the realization of their creative musical and lyrical vision. After their recent victory in the city final for the Emergenza Festival’s annual competition and the simultaneous release of their very first dynamic musical innovation, “Paint the Sky”, Since the Ashes have undoubtedly set the foundation for an auspicious career and are becoming a musical inspiration to more and more people each day.
By embracing the diversity of their cultural and musical backgrounds, Since the Ashes have integrated what many believe to be an eclectic combination of influences from which many imaginative creations have sprung. “Paint the Sky” is the result of a masterful blend of rock, world music and many other South American influences, sparking increased acclaim and a constantly growing fan-base with its striking intensity and poetic symbolism. The love that STA fans have developed for the album and for the band, is more than apparent when the same chant is heard at every show: “S-T-A! S-T-A! S-T-A!”
Since the Ashes even gained the opportunity to play as the opening act for the Toronto-based darkwave group, The Birthday Massacre, whose immense following responded amiably to STA’s performance. This small taste of fame has only fueled the band’s hunger for success and the desire to spread their musical vision.
