Album Notes

Sinclair consists of a tight-knit 3 piece band that regularly has guest artist. The style is quoted to be "reggae, rock, with latin/flamenco influence." Sinclair has such a wide range of influences such as Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, Bob Marley, Santana, to Chris Cornell from Audio Slave, Perfect Circle, Tool, U2, and then world influences such as Paco De Lucia, Andres Segovia, and many eastern indian sounding music.
The members of Sinclair are Jesse Olswang (drums/vocals), Eric Alonzo (Base/vocals), and Justin Ancheta (Guitar/vocals). Jesse is known for his precise rhythm patterns and intricate weaving of world beats with hip-hop/groove flavors. He also has a great high voice for strong harmonies with Justin. Eric is known for his tight locked basslines with the drums that can consist of great melodies along with being a solid groove that compliments Jesse. Eric, on occassion, comes in with solid 3 part harmony lines. Justin has been dabbling in flamenco and classical guitar (with the nylon string) for years. His unique influence diverts the band from just being a good rock/reggae band into having world sounds intertwined into almost every song. Sometimes the guitar or vocals drift into a middle-eastern arabic scale that is remeniscent of Spanish Gypsies that are trying to free their soul through their music. At almost every show Justin will use 3 different guitars, the electric tele, acoustic taylor, and cordaba nylon. Justin also plays acoustic solo shows (for practice he says) and uses loop stations to create combinations of rhythms and leads and sometimes demonstrates this at Sinclair shows.
All members grew up together in California and are still residing in Northern California.
