Album Notes

The first release from Portland-based poet/producer Alan Singley, here is an album to make you smile and make crafts to. This album is cute, cute, cute and full of many spaceship sounds and pleasing melodies.

Alan got his start in pilots versus aeroplanes, an Orlando, FL-based ensemble that gave him the role of synth player. Etc Etc

Anyways give this a listen and get ready for the new album "audio biciclette" coming like Winter of 2004 on Lucky Madison Records.

... raggedy, eccentric pop

This one was instantly engaging, and a few months later I still play it regularly for the sheer pleasure of its raggedy, eccentric pop. It's easy just to say that it's charming and catchy, although it is all of that – more importantly it has an intimacy and an unforced strangeness that give it character, and a lightness of touch that gives it staying power. When Singley's just-woke-up croon delivers the lines: "Well I open up the window, and let the breeze just come on in", it's among my favourite moments on CD in recent times. For me, discovering gems like this is what CD Baby is all about.
