Album Notes

The Singular\'s front man James Pequignot starting making music because he thought he could do it better. He was sick of clamoring through the insurmountable static that is rock music as we know it today, only to find a handful of sincere and interesting artists. At the time he had found this new thing, it was the guitar. He realized that he could sing and play to describe complex emotions and situations in a way that was much more intricate and satisfying than with poetry alone. Later he would discover that the piano had an equal ability to aid him in the delivery of his art form. Like most independent musicians, Pequignot went from band to band until he started The Singular. The Singular was different. With The Singular, Pequignot has assembled a group of musicians who all have their own unique and talented voice, but believe in and stand united behind his immense musical vision. The Singular is a band dedicated to creating sincere art. They place an overwhelming emphasis on writing good songs about interesting characters in complex situations. They are adamant about creating arrangements that play to the higher concepts of their material. They are ego-less soldiers who expend no energy attempting to impress you with their personal skills, but rather strive to create the best songs they possibly can. Collectively their only goal is to move you, to share with you the unique perspective that their songs have delivered to them. Have they succeeded? There\'s only one way to find out: listen.
