Album Notes

The Sippy Cups have been sweeping the West Coast with a new brand of family entertainment. Getting parents back out to the clubs while their kids have a juice box and they mosh to The Ramones and great classics of pop music. Here, the band has released their first original songs produced by indie guru producer, Eric Drew Feldman (The Polyphonic Spree, Frank Black, etc.) The original singles offer an incredibly fresh approach that parents and kids cannot resist. Packaged with a sing-along story book by renowned illustrator Susan Verlander. The singles are followed by two storytelling remix tracks featuring the sweetly hilarious "Hair Professor" and a cooking program recipe for Magic Toast.

"Every parent's favorite kid rock band and quite possibly the illegitimate offspring of The Cat in the Hat and Joey Ramone" - San Francisco Chronicle.

Kid's music doesn't typically get me excited. I can definitely appreciate Dan Zanes, The Wiggles and other respectable children's artists. But The Sippy Cups did more than appeal to my ears and balance the catchy with the intelligent. This is first indie pop album for kids that we've had submitted and never before has music been so successful at reaching and appealing to both adults and their kids without compromising something somewhere. It's like Death Cab for Cutie with children's lyrics. "Snail Song & Magic Toast" is sweet, mellow and gentle- even a bit reminiscent of the Beatles here and there. This is the epitome of kid's music, proving that there's no need for corny sound effects and kazoos to keep kids interested. If you're needing an extra stocking stuffer, don't pass this up. It is sure to be one of the best CD Baby kid's albums for all time.
