Grupo Siquisirí was founded in 1985 by a group of musicians interested in preserving the folklore of Sotavento in Veracruz, Mexico. Since then it has been devoted to disseminate jarocho music on countless places from humble fandangos on little farms and towns in Veracruz to International Festivals in Canada, Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, Japan and the United States.
They host the most important Son Jarocho Festival from Tlacotalpan, their hometown, called Encuentro de Jaraneros.
