Album Notes

Tua’r Wlad is a unique blend of traditional Welsh folk songs and hymns, with a ‘late night jazz’ feel, and the beautiful voice of Siriol Burford. In the Welsh language, Tua’r Wlad means literally ‘toward the country’. It has echoes of longing for the land of Wales, as well as a sense of looking toward Heaven. It has its roots firmly in the Celtic musical tradition, but also weaves a tapestry of classical and jazz influences into a deeply emotional and sensitive performance.

The songs have been arranged and produced by Stephen J Preston (www.cdbaby.com/stephenjpreston), who is joined by Rob Jones on drums, and Owen Lloyd-Evans (Lleuwen Steffan/Acoustique) on double bass.

This is an album for quiet nights in, and will transport you to the hills and valleys of Wales.

We recommend this CD be accompanied by a good red wine, or glass of best Welsh whiskey. Enjoy
