Sita conveys the power and joy of chanting.Her presence in these chants lends itself as a support and invites even those who think they cannot sing to join in.Another aspect that stands out is the silence that descends with the close of each chant.To taste that silence is to taste Nada Brahma: the silence out of which everything arises and falls back into,moment after moment.There is a vivid sense of aliveness,joy,and empowerment that comes as one dives into the sound and rides its waves.
Sita has been leading chanting in different venues for seventeen years.Her singing started within the Hindu tradititn of Kirtan, expanding out to all traditions to reach broader audience.She is a native of Ireland and feels that her voice comes out of her celtic roots.A disciple of Neeem Karoli Baba,she as performed with Ram Das,Krishna das and Baghavan Das.
